Situated at the world-renowned Half Moon Bay, the boutique resort is being developed with sustainability at its core. The property blends contemporary architecture with environmentally responsible features, positioning itself within the growing eco-luxury market.
Phase One of the project is nearing completion and will deliver 47 upscale accommodations, including 26 standard suites, 14 premium suites, and seven penthouse suites. Phase Two will introduce an additional 22 one- and two-bedroom luxury suites, further expanding investment opportunities while preserving the resort’s intimate atmosphere.
MoonGate will offer a curated guest experience featuring a piano lounge and reception area, a plant-based bistro, a full-service restaurant and bar, landscaped gardens, infinity and garden pools, a modern fitness centre, and a comprehensive wellness spa.
Minister Fernandez noted that projects of this calibre reflect the evolving direction of Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector, emphasizing quality, sustainability, and long-term economic impact. He highlighted that developments like MoonGate strengthen the destination’s appeal to discerning travellers seeking environmentally conscious luxury experiences.

The resort is projected to create employment for more than 120 Antiguans and Barbudans, contributing meaningfully to local livelihoods while supporting continued expansion in the tourism industry.
With its combination of refined design, eco-conscious philosophy, and prime east coast location, MoonGate Hotel and Spa is poised to further solidify Antigua and Barbuda’s standing as a premier boutique and luxury destination in the Caribbean.

I ANTICIPATE its opening. It looks lovely
Sustainability must be more than a buzzword. I hope there is transparency about environmental impact assessments and long-term conservation plans.
The name alone sounds high-end. Hopefully the experience matches the promise.
This is exactly the direction Antigua and Barbuda should be heading smaller, high-quality, eco-conscious developments that protect our natural beauty while boosting the economy. Looking forward to seeing MoonGate open in 2026!
The boutique concept is smart. Not every development needs to be massive. High-end, intimate properties attract visitors who spend more and appreciate the destination.
The east coast has so much untapped potential. Developments like this can bring balanced growth outside of the usual tourism hubs.
