Cashew Hill Man Remanded on Firearm Charges

Kaleb Richards will spend the next month in custody after appearing in court on unlicensed firearms charges this week.

The Cashew Hill resident stood before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel at the St. John’s Magistrate’s Court on Monday facing allegations that he illegally possessed a loaded semi-automatic pistol earlier this month.

Police allege that on February 3, Richards had a Raven Arms MP-25 semi-automatic pistol along with six rounds of .25 ACP ammunition at his Cashew Hill residence. Authorities say he did not hold the required firearm user’s license for either the weapon or the ammunition.

Richards was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison and will not have another opportunity to address the charges until he returns to court on March 11.
