SIDS Centre of Excellence Launches Official Website

PRESS RELEASE

ST JOHN’S, 20 February 2026 — The SIDS Centre of Excellence (SIDS CoE) has officially launched its website: www.sidscentreofexcellence.org. This marks a milestone in the operationalisation of the Centre and the continued advancement of the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS).

The SIDS CoE is the tangible institutional mechanism that supports Small Island Developing States to deliver on the priorities and outcomes of the ABAS. Through four interconnected pillars: the Global Data Hub, Innovation Technology Mechanism, Island Investment forum and Debt Sustainability Service, the Centre strengthens the capacity of Small Island Developing States to accelerate resilient development.

The newly launched website provides a comprehensive overview of the Centre’s mandate, governance framework, and core pillars of work. It also provides pathways for governments, development partners, academic institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to engage with the Centre to advance resilient prosperity for SIDS.

A formal physical launch of the SIDS CoE will take place early this year in Antigua and Barbuda. The event will convene regional and international partners to mark the Centre’s establishment and further strengthen collaboration in support of SIDS priorities. Additional details regarding the launch will be announced soon.
