Ffryes Beach Reverse Osmosis Plant
The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) Water Business Unit has advised customers of a temporary reduction in daily water production at three of its Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants.
According to APUA, the decrease in output is the result of separate operational issues at the facilities.
Electrical problems are affecting the Crabbs Reverse Osmosis Plant, while mechanical challenges have impacted operations at the Ivan Rodrigues Reverse Osmosis Plant. At the Fort James Reverse Osmosis Plant, one production unit is currently offline due to unfavourable sea conditions.
As a result, communities supplied by these plants may experience adjustments to their normal water distribution schedule. This could include shorter periods of water supply or longer intervals between scheduled service days.
The Water Business Unit is encouraging customers, particularly those in affected areas, to ensure they have adequate water stored for household needs and to practise mindful water usage until normal service is restored.
APUA says its teams are actively addressing the issues and continue to monitor the system closely as efforts are made to return production to full capacity as quickly as possible.
The Authority thanked customers for their patience and understanding during the temporary disruption.
