The Antigua and Barbuda Scout Association has elected a new Executive Committee to lead the movement through its next phase of national revitalisation following its triennial elections held on February 26, 2026, at Government House.
The Annual General Meeting was convened under the distinguished patronage of Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General and Chief Scout, who chaired the proceedings.
Elected to serve for the March 2026 to February 2029 term are Chairman Dr. Fitzmore Burns; Vice-Chairmen Ambassador Anthony Liverpool and Mr. Cordel Josiah; National Treasurer Ms. Lily Schofield; and National Secretary Dr. Janil Gore-Francis. Scout Leader Representatives include Ms. Brianna Pereira, Mr. Tarik Mussington, Mr. Kadeem Charles and Ms. Abigail Burke, while Lay Members are Mr. Norman Spencer, Mr. Joseph Prosper, Mr. Novelle Williams and Commander (ret’d.) Auden Nicholas.
The elected members will serve alongside uniformed leadership, including Chief Commissioner Patricia Salmon and Assistant Chief Commissioners Lt. Col. (ret’d.) Ivor J. Walker, Mr. Delano Richards, Ms. Heather Cole, Mrs. Patsy Quinland-Richards, Mr. Kibwé Harris and Ms. Denise Jarvis, as well as two additional members to be co-opted to the Executive Committee.

The election comes at a pivotal time for the Association, which in 2022 transitioned to full independence as a National Scout Organisation within the World Organization of the Scout Movement. That milestone marked a new era for Scouting in Antigua and Barbuda, granting the local body greater autonomy in shaping programmes tailored to the needs of young people across the twin-island state.
Association leaders describe the new executive as a dynamic team charged with expanding Scouting’s reach and strengthening its national impact. Over the next triennium, the focus will include establishing Scout groups in every parish and enhancing mentorship for members between the ages of five and 25. Emphasis will also be placed on leadership development, civic responsibility, environmental stewardship and practical life skills.
As part of its revitalisation strategy, the Association is inviting corporate entities, faith-based organisations and community groups to partner as Scout Group sponsors. Officials say such partnerships will provide opportunities to support youth mentorship, vocational and digital skills training, and community-based service initiatives.
The Association reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people and building a stronger sense of service and citizenship nationwide, noting that with renewed leadership and independent status, Scouting is poised to deepen its footprint across Antigua and Barbuda.
