Road Repair Works Continue: Single-Lane Traffic in Key Areas

The Ministry of Works’ Project Implementation Management Unit (PIMU) wishes to inform the public that single-lane traffic will continue to be in effect for ongoing infrastructure repairs on major roads.

  • Valley Road North: Daily repair activities, including road markings, concrete work, and drainage improvements, will commence around 8:00 a.m. in the areas surrounding Jennings, Bolans, Jolly Harbour, and Sugar Ridge.

  • Sir Sydney Walling Highway: Road markings, asphalt repairs, junction upgrades, and shoulder work will also take place daily starting at approximately 8:00 a.m. west of Glanvilles.

  • Old Parham Road: Road marking work will proceed daily, beginning at around 8:00 a.m.

Flag personnel will be on-site, and motorists are urged to follow all instructions to ensure a safe passage, as heavy machinery will be in operation near the work zones.

All businesses will remain open.

C.O. Williams Ltd. sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. The roadworks are part of the Second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project initiated by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

Stakeholders are encouraged to adjust their travel plans to account for potential delays.

For inquiries, please contact the C.O. Williams Project office at 562-9573.

  1. Thank God it won’t affect my commute to the city

  2. These repairs are necessary but it’s hella frustrating. ESPECIALLY DURING THE WEEK AND AT PEAK HOURS. Times like 8am is not time to be holding up traffic, it’s already held up by the amount of cars in this country.

  3. I’m not going to lie, the traffic is going to be a headache, especially around Valley Road. But we’ve been complaining about potholes and drainage for years. Repairs are frustrating, but necessary.

  4. Starting at 8:00 a.m. is right in the middle of peak movement. I really hope they manage the traffic flow properly because that stretch already backs up on a normal day.
