After more than four decades of dedicated service to the medical profession, Consultant Anaesthetist Dr. Olubukola Ogumbyi has officially retired, bringing to a close a remarkable career that has left a lasting impact on healthcare in Antigua and Barbuda.
Dr. Ogumbyi began her medical journey in Antigua at the former Holberton Hospital, where she served as a Paediatric House Officer early in her career.
Over the years, she went on to build an outstanding reputation as a highly skilled anaesthetist, known for her professionalism, calm demeanor in the operating theatre, and unwavering commitment to patient care.
Throughout her more than 40 years in medicine, Dr. Ogumbyi played a vital role in supporting countless surgical procedures while mentoring and guiding younger medical professionals.
Her colleagues often describe her as a dedicated physician whose knowledge, leadership, and compassion helped shape the standards of care within the medical community.
