Canadian citizen, Roselynee Crisostomo

Roselynee Crisostomo, a 48-year-old Canadian woman, was remanded into custody Thursday morning after officers intercepted her arrival on Air Canada flight AC1832 and found 61 vacuum-sealed packages of cannabis — more than 67 pounds in total, with an estimated street value of EC$536,000 — stuffed inside her two suitcases.

The bust was the result of a joint drug interdiction operation involving the Narcotics Department, the Special Services Unit, the K-9 Unit, and the Customs Enforcement Unit, who were waiting when the flight touched down from Toronto on March 10th. Crisostomo never cleared the terminal.

She now faces five charges: drug trafficking, importation of cannabis, possession, possession with intent to transfer, and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

When she appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel this morning, prosecutors successfully argued she should be held on remand. The court found her to be a flight risk — and with good reason. Crisostomo has no ties to Antigua and Barbuda whatsoever, making her, in the court’s assessment, a poor candidate for bail.

She will return to court on May 13, 2026.
