Polling stations across St Philip’s North constituency opened at 6:00 AM this morning as voters head to the polls to choose a successor to Sir Robin Yearwood, who represented the seat for 50 consecutive years before resigning last month.

The by-election pits Antigua Barbuda Labour Party standard-bearer Randy Baltimore against United Progressive Party candidate Alex Browne. Voters in Willikies, Glanvilles, Seatons, and Newfield have until 6:00 PM to cast their ballots.

The seat has been held by ABLP without interruption since 1976, but the opposition UPP is mounting its most serious challenge in decades, arguing the constituency has been neglected throughout Yearwood’s tenure.

Polls close at 6:00 PM.
