The family of Chantel Crump, including her parents, assembled at the Magistrates court this morning to hear whether the case involving her murder will be thrown out.

Angela Mejia, the young woman charged with the crime arrived heavily escorted at around 9:20 am. She hid her face from the media and the public.

During today’s proceedings, the magistrate will hold a committal hearing to assess if there’s enough evidence to advance Mejia’s case to the High Court. If prosecutors don’t provide sufficient evidence, the defense could win a dismissal, leading to Mejia’s release.
