The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) has finalized its full slate of 17 candidates who will contest the upcoming general elections, as the party intensifies preparations for a vote expected within weeks.

The list, endorsed by the party’s executive and awaiting ratification at the April 12 convention, features incumbents alongside new candidates across all constituencies.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne will seek re-election in St John’s City West, while several senior ministers, including Sir Steadroy Benjamin, E.P. Chet Greene, Charles Max Fernandez, and Melford Nicholas, are also returning to contest their respective seats.

The full slate of candidates is as follows:

•⁠ ⁠Rawdon Turner – St Peter
•⁠ ⁠Anthony Smith Jr. – All Saints West
•⁠ ⁠Randy Baltimore – St Philip North
•⁠ ⁠Michael Joseph – St John’s Rural West
•⁠ ⁠Michael Freeland – St George
•⁠ ⁠Kiz Johnson – St Philip South
•⁠ ⁠Lamin Newton – All Saints East and St Luke
•⁠ ⁠Dwayne George – St Mary’s South

With the convention date now set, the ABLP is expected to shift fully into campaign mode as the country moves closer to general elections.
