Man dies after vehicle overturns in Crabbs Peninsula crash
A 35-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash along the Crabbs Peninsula main road on Friday evening.
Preliminary reports indicate the man was driving in the vicinity of the YIDA Special Economic Zone when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off the roadway and overturned into nearby bushes.
Emergency Medical Services responded promptly, pulling the driver from the wreckage and administering CPR at the scene before transporting him to hospital. Despite their efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
The incident marks the second road fatality within the span of an hour on Friday evening. Earlier, EMS responded to a separate crash in Freetown where a female motorist lost her life after her vehicle collided with a fence. First responders believe she may have lost consciousness prior to the crash.
Authorities are continuing investigations into both incidents.
