Man Convicted in Mill Reef Club Home Invasion That Left Three Elderly Victims Bound and Robbed

A man has been convicted on three counts of aggravated robbery for his role in a brazen home invasion targeting elderly residents at the exclusive Mill Reef Club, and will learn his fate at the end of the month.

Justice Ann Marie Smith delivered the guilty verdict against Marlon Carr following a judge-alone trial, with sentencing set for April 30. Carr had been among three men originally charged in connection with the April 6, 2022 attack.

His co-accused had already resolved their cases separately. Rickardo Bussawan of Villa admitted guilt on all three counts in 2024 and was handed a sentence of eight years and six months, while the charges against the third man, Delon Wills, were eventually dropped. Carr chose to contest the matter — and lost.

The trial heard testimony from the three victims: a couple and their female houseguest, all in their seventies. The group described more than an hour of terror during which the intruders bound them with duct tape and forced the male victim to unlock a safe. The robbers left with cash, jewellery, an iPad, and other valuables.
