In a public notice, ABEC said electors who applied on or before February 28, 2026, to transfer from one constituency to another must finalize the process by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10 at its headquarters.
The Commission warned that anyone who fails to meet the deadline will be required to vote in their original constituency, despite having submitted a transfer request.
At the same time, ABEC confirmed that individuals who registered to vote for the first time on or before February 28 will be eligible to cast their ballots in the April 30 elections. This follows the completion of the claims and objections process, with those names now officially included on the List of Electors.
The update comes as the country prepares for a snap general election, with political activity intensifying across constituencies.
ABEC has thanked members of the public for their cooperation and is urging all eligible voters to ensure their registration details are in order ahead of Election Day.

With all the political tension right now, administrative issues like this could easily cause confusion. It’s good they’re addressing it early.
At the end of the day, voting is a right, but also a responsibility. If you want your voice heard, you have to make sure everything is in order before it’s too late.
How can your voice be heard when there are many other voices out weighing yours?
I hope the directorate take notice
