State Insurance celebrates 42 years of Spellbound sponsorship

St. John’s, Antigua & Barbuda – State Insurance Company Limited (SICL) proudly marks an incredible milestone – 42 years of continuous sponsorship of the National Spellbound Championship, one of Antigua & Barbuda’s most cherished academic competitions.

In recognition of this longstanding commitment, SICL has increased its annual sponsorship to $15,000 XCD, further strengthening its investment in education and youth development.

For over four decades, SICL has remained committed to nurturing young minds and supporting educational development across the nation. The National Spellbound Championship has long served as a platform for students to showcase their academic excellence, build confidence, and develop critical communication skills.

The 42nd anniversary celebration culminated in the highly anticipated finals held on Monday, March 30, 2026, featuring three outstanding schools: Greenbay Primary School, Old Road Primary School, and St. Nicholas Primary School. The competition brought together students, educators, and families for an inspiring display of talent and achievement.

Old Road Primary School delivered a commendable performance, securing 3rd place with 54 points.

Greenbay Primary School delivered a strong performance, taking 2nd place with 70 points.

Congratulations to St. Nicholas Primary School, who claimed the championship title with an impressive 82 points!

Through this enduring partnership, SICL continues to invest in the future of Antigua & Barbuda by encouraging literacy, learning, and excellence among the nation’s youth.

Ms. Aarion A. Nicholas, Chief Executive Officer of State Insurance Company Limited, emphasized the significance of this milestone:
