A tribute to ABLP Leader Gaston Browne took center stage as supporters of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) gathered in a show of unity, pride, and political momentum, celebrating what party officials described as a period of strong, steady leadership.
The tribute, delivered by Chairman of the ABLP E.P Chet Greene during the party’s high-energy convention, praised Browne’s stewardship during some of the most challenging global and national circumstances in recent history, pointing to what speakers described as decisive governance and economic resilience.
Greene credited Browne with maintaining stability when it mattered most, noting that Antigua and Barbuda emerged with record employment levels, growing business confidence, and expanding opportunities.

“Employment is at the highest level in our history, unemployment at the lowest ever… these are not slogans, these are facts,” Greene emphasized, framing these achievements as the foundation of what the party has branded a national “Renaissance.”
Greene also underscored that these gains were not accidental but the result of “experience, discipline and sound judgment,” reinforcing the narrative that Browne’s leadership has been central to the country’s progress.
“In these difficult times, he has brought prudent financial stewardship and strong, steady leadership to the government of Antigua and Barbuda,” he said as applause rippled through the crowd.
The tribute also placed Browne’s leadership within a broader global context, warning that increasing instability, rising prices, and shifting economic conditions make experienced leadership critical for small states like Antigua and Barbuda.
Against that backdrop, party supporters were urged to choose continuity and progress over uncertainty.
“We choose progress. We choose stability. We choose advancement,” Greene declared, drawing loud cheers from attendees.
The moment formed a key highlight of the convention, reinforcing the ABLP’s campaign messaging ahead of the upcoming general elections and positioning Browne as a central figure in what the party describes as the country’s next phase of development.
