WIOC and PDV Caribe partner together in an effort to support community projects
Two corporate entities have joined forces to support community development initiatives in Antigua and Barbuda, delivering funding and resources to the Scrub Life Care Project and the Original Steel Orchestra.
The West Indies Oil Company (WIOC) and PDV Caribe formalised their contributions during a cheque presentation held Thursday at WIOC’s conference room, where representatives from both organisations handed over support to the beneficiaries.

PDV Caribe General Manager Jellette Ralph and WIOC Brand and Commercial Manager Shari Dickenson presented the donations to Tanya Ambrose of Scrub Life Care and Omari King of the Original Steel Orchestra.
Ralph said PDV Caribe is serving as a silver sponsor of the upcoming “Grow with the Flo” Health Expo, describing the event as a key platform for promoting health education and empowerment among women, girls and youth.
The expo is scheduled for May 23 at the Cana Moravian Church grounds in Swetes and will feature workshops, panel discussions, youth sessions and the distribution of hygiene and self-care supplies.
Scrub Life Care Project received a combined $2,000 in support — including $1,000 in cash from PDV Caribe and $1,000 worth of products from WIOC to assist with the event.
Meanwhile, the Original Steel Orchestra was awarded $4,500 in funding, with PDV Caribe contributing $3,000 and WIOC adding $1,500.
Ralph also pointed to the ongoing partnership with the steelband, noting its impact on youth development and cultural preservation.
She said the organisation continues to provide young people with opportunities to build discipline, teamwork and creativity while staying connected to Antigua and Barbuda’s rich steel pan heritage.
The joint effort highlights a shared commitment by both companies to invest in initiatives that strengthen communities through health outreach, youth engagement and cultural support.
