Police have launched an investigation following a late-night shooting in Grays Farm that has left one man hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to a statement issued by STRATCOM moments ago, the incident unfolded around 10:35 p.m. on Sunday along #3 George Street in the Green Bay area, when officers from the Grays Farm Police Station responded to reports of gunfire.

Police say upon arrival, lawmen discovered that a male resident of Golden Grove had been shot.

He was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he is currently being treated for a gunshot wound to the lower back. Medical officials say his condition is stable but remains serious.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information to come forward. Individuals can contact the Grays Farm Police Station at 462-0481, the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913, or provide anonymous tips via Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
