Government offers reward regarding stolen laptops

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs has announced a $10,000 Eastern Caribbean dollar reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the theft of 30 government laptops from its headquarters in St. John’s.

The Dell Pro 16 notebook computers were reported missing from the Ministry’s offices, prompting an active investigation by law enforcement authorities. Officials say the devices are critical to the delivery of healthcare administration and public services across Antigua and Barbuda.

In a statement, the Ministry appealed to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. Authorities stressed that all tips will be handled with strict confidentiality.

Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda at 462-3913 or 462-3914, or to provide anonymous information via Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS.

The Ministry also issued a strong warning against purchasing or accepting any of the stolen devices, noting that the laptops remain the property of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. Officials cautioned that anyone found in possession of the equipment could face legal action.

Serial numbers for the stolen laptops have been circulated to assist in identification and recovery efforts as the investigation continues.
