Voter ID cards are being renewed at a vigorous pace in this election season

The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission has announced extended hours for registration units across the country to facilitate the collection of voter identification cards ahead of Election Day.

In a notice issued today, the Commission advised that all registration units will remain open until 10 p.m. to allow electors additional time to collect their cards.

However, the renewal process for voter ID cards will conclude earlier, at 7 p.m.

The extended hours are part of ABEC’s ongoing efforts to ensure that all eligible voters are properly equipped to participate in the electoral process.

Public Relations Officer Elisa Graham encouraged individuals who have applied for replacement or renewed cards to make use of the extended window to collect their documents.

Electors are reminded that possession of a valid voter identification card is mandatory to cast a ballot.
