A St. John’s business owner is appealing to the public for help in identifying a man responsible for a burglary at a Newgate Street store late last month.

The appeal comes after surveillance cameras at Costume Island Antigua reportedly captured the suspect breaking into the establishment around 11:50 PM on Sunday, April 26.

According to the business owner, the intruder stole a substantial quantity of merchandise and personal items before fleeing the scene. Among the stolen goods were Paparazzi branded jewelry, including rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets, fashion sunglasses, a silver HP laptop, rhinestone masks, body and head chains, pilot pins and various accessories.

Anime-themed merchandise was also taken, including Naruto rings, High-Rise Invasion masks and Ghostface masks.

The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, fair in complexion and medium-built. He also reportedly has a tattoo on his right forearm bearing the words “TRUE LOVE.”

At the time of the incident, the man was allegedly dressed in a red and white ABLP shirt, black trousers, a red New York cap, black tennis shoes and a grey, black and white ski mask.

The business owner has since shared video footage of the break-in on social media in hopes that someone may recognize the suspect and provide information to investigators.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 462-3913 or call 728-7170.

Authorities are also reminding members of the public that knowingly receiving stolen goods is a criminal offence.
