Three Charged After Police Seize Gun, Ammunition and Cannabis During Red Hill Operations

Three people are expected to appear before the court after police officers uncovered a firearm, ammunition, and several quantities of cannabis during a series of coordinated operations in the Red Hill community.

The operations were carried out in the early hours of Monday by officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit, the Special Services Unit, and the K-9 Unit, according to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

Police said officers executed multiple search operations in the area, resulting in the arrest and charging of several individuals on firearm and drug-related offences.

One of the accused, Embert St. Ange of Red Hill, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of cannabis after officers allegedly discovered a Ruger .380 auto pistol along with ammunition and cannabis during the operation.

Investigators said the seizure included fourteen rounds of .380 ammunition, one round of 9mm ammunition, and approximately one pound of cannabis.

In a separate matter stemming from the same operations, 38-year-old Gael St. Ange was charged with unlawful possession of 113 grams of cannabis.

Gael St. Ange was also jointly charged with 28-year-old Tamisha Cyrille with unlawful possession of 3.8 pounds of cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to transfer.

The three accused are expected to appear before the court at a later date.

Police say the latest arrests form part of ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal firearms and drug activity across Antigua and Barbuda. Officers have also pledged to continue targeted operations aimed at improving public safety and reducing criminal activity within communities.
