Police Seek Public’s Help After Elderly Woman Shot During Violent Liberta Home Invasion

Police are appealing to the public for assistance following a violent armed robbery and shooting incident at Green Hill, Liberta that left an elderly couple injured during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to investigators, officers responded to reports of a robbery around 2:00 a.m. on May 26 at the home of a 68-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife.

Preliminary investigations revealed that two masked men allegedly forced their way into the residence and physically assaulted the couple while demanding money.

During the ordeal, the male victim was reportedly beaten about the body, while his wife sustained multiple injuries, including a gunshot wound to her right leg.

Both victims were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for medical treatment. Police said their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspects were described as slim-built and wearing dark face coverings.
