Cement Shortage Nearing End, Government Says

The government says persistent cement shortages affecting construction and roadworks could soon become a thing of the past.

During Tuesday’s Throne Speech, Governor General Sir Rodney Williams acknowledged that shortages have created challenges for infrastructure projects nationwide.

However, the speech stated that dredging works near the cement silos at Crabbes are nearing completion and are expected to improve the ease of cement deliveries into Antigua and Barbuda.

Officials expressed confidence that the supply issues impacting construction and road repairs will soon ease.
