The Caribbean Union Bank Inter-Secondary School Debate Series and Impromptu Speaking Competition officially concluded yesterday at the The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus, bringing an end to a highly competitive season that began with sixteen secondary schools from across Antigua and Barbuda.
The final showdown saw defending champions St. Joseph’s Academy facing off against Sir Novelle Richards Academy in a spirited and intellectually charged debate that showcased the remarkable talent and confidence of the nation’s youth.
St. Joseph’s Academy emerged victorious once again, successfully retaining the championship title after delivering another commanding performance throughout the competition. Their consistency, critical thinking, and eloquence earned high praise from judges and supporters alike.

Sir Novelle Richards Academy was also commended for its outstanding performance during the season and in the final round, with both schools demonstrating discipline, preparation, and exceptional debating ability.
