VIDEO: Close Call on Airport Road After Driver Uses Center Lane Overtaking Three Vehicles

Motorists on Airport Road narrowly avoided what could have been a serious head-on collision after a driver was seen using the wrong lane in a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre on Thursday.

Video footage circulating on social media shows an orange Honda Fit RS, bearing licence plate A72625, travelling eastbound and overtaking three vehicles by entering the centre lane, which is designated exclusively for westbound traffic.

As the vehicle proceeded against the flow of traffic, oncoming motorists were forced to react quickly. In the footage, a white van is seen swerving sharply to avoid a direct impact as the two vehicles came dangerously close to colliding.

Other drivers in the area slowed as the situation unfolded, with the incident concern among road users.

The video has since sparked widespread criticism online, with many calling for stronger enforcement of traffic laws and greater driver awareness to prevent similar incidents on the nation’s roads.
