Members of Antigua and Barbuda’s medical fraternity are expressing shock and sadness following the sudden death of Dr. Radhakrishnan Krishna, a respected surgeon at Mount St. John’s Medical Centre.

Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues, healthcare professionals, former patients, and members of the wider community, many describing Dr. Krishna as a dedicated physician who devoted his life to the care and wellbeing of others.

Several medical professionals who worked alongside him spoke of his commitment to patient care, professionalism, and willingness to mentor younger healthcare workers throughout his career.

“He was not only an excellent surgeon but also a compassionate colleague and friend,” one healthcare worker said. “His loss will be deeply felt throughout the medical community.”

The Medical Staff Association and other healthcare professionals have also extended condolences to Dr. Krishna’s family, friends, and colleagues during what they described as an extremely difficult time.

Dr. Krishna was found outside his Belmont home on Friday. Emergency medical personnel and police responded to the scene, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.

As news of his passing spread, many residents took to social media to share memories and offer condolences, remembering him as a caring doctor who touched the lives of countless patients over the years.

The medical community has described his death as a significant loss to the healthcare sector and to Antigua and Barbuda as a whole.

Further information is expected as authorities continue their investigations.
