
Dejontè Buckley Faces String of Charges Following Cashew Hill Incident
A 21-year-old man from Nut Grove has been charged with multiple offences following an incident involving the alleged theft of personal belongings from a vehicle in the Cashew Hill area.
Police have charged Dejontè Buckley with larceny, assault and battery, making use of threatening language, and possession of an imitation firearm.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on Tuesday, June 16, when Buckley allegedly entered a vehicle belonging to a resident of Cassada Gardens and stole several items. The stolen property reportedly included two wallets, cash, a white AirPods case, identification cards, bank cards, and other personal documents.
The total value of the items was estimated at approximately EC$3,716.
Police later apprehended Buckley and took him into custody. During subsequent investigations, officers reportedly recovered several items, including a ski mask and an imitation firearm.
Law enforcement officials are reminding motorists to secure their vehicles and avoid leaving valuables unattended, noting that such precautions can help reduce opportunities for theft.
The police are continuing their investigations and are appealing to anyone with information that may assist the case to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, the Grays Farm Police Station, or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
Buckley is expected to appear before the court to answer the charges.
