Sir Lester Bird Medical Center honors the late Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan with Remembrance Walk

Staff members of the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) came together in a moving display of remembrance and appreciation as they participated in a memorial walk honouring the life and service of recently departed Consultant Surgeon, Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan.

The remembrance walk brought together doctors, nurses, administrators and support staff, all united in paying tribute to a man who dedicated years of service to healthcare in Antigua and Barbuda and left an indelible mark on both his colleagues and patients.

Fondly known as Dr. Krishnan, he was remembered not only for his exceptional skill as a surgeon but also for his frank and straightforward manner, which was balanced by a deep sense of compassion and care for those around him.


Colleagues described him as a physician who was honest, dedicated and committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care. Many recalled his willingness to mentor younger medical professionals, his unwavering professionalism and the kindness he extended to patients and staff alike.
