The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) has officially launched the State Insurance Company Limited Panorama 2026 season, marking the occasion with a $165,000 contribution to the Antigua and Barbuda Pan Association following the successful staging of Pan in the City.

The cheque presentation took place during the official launch event and represents the final installment under a three-year agreement between the Festivals Commission and the Pan Association aimed at supporting and strengthening the steelband movement across the country.

The launch follows the success of Pan in the City, which transformed Redcliffe Street into a vibrant cultural hub as thousands of patrons gathered to enjoy performances from all nine of Antigua and Barbuda’s steelbands. The event showcased the energy, talent, and community spirit that continue to define the nation’s steelpan culture.

Minister of Sports and Creative Industries, Dwayne George, praised State Insurance Company Limited for its continued investment in the country’s cultural development.

“Today, we celebrate the power of steelpan through nine steel bands representing nine communities across our nation,” George said. “Every pan yard is a space where talent is nurtured, friendships are formed, and our cultural heritage is preserved for future generations. “

The minister also expressed optimism about the future growth of the steelband movement, stating that he hopes to see an additional steelband emerge from St. Mary’s in the coming years.

Chief Executive Officer of State Insurance Company Limited, Aarion Nicholas, said the company remains committed to supporting the traditions and institutions that contribute to national development.

“Panorama is more than a competition; it is a celebration of discipline, creativity, community pride, and cultural excellence,” Nicholas said. “We are proud to continue our partnership with the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission and the Antigua and Barbuda Pan Association as we help preserve and grow the steelpan movement for future generations.”

Pan in the City featured performances from all nine steelbands, filling the streets of St. John’s with music and building anticipation for the Panorama Finals, one of the most anticipated events on the Antigua Carnival calendar.

The ABFC extended thanks to State Insurance Company Limited, the Pan Association, participating steelbands, sponsors, vendors, and patrons whose support contributed to the success of the event.

The State Insurance Company Limited Panorama Finals are scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Carnival City, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at official outlets islandwide for $40.

Organizers are encouraging the public to come out and support the nation’s steelbands as they compete for Panorama glory and continue a tradition that remains at the heart of Antigua and Barbuda’s cultural identity.
