Entertainer to Face Judge in October Over Alleged Sexual Assault

An entertainer accused of sexually assaulting a woman will stand trial in the High Court in October after pleading not guilty to two criminal charges.

The accused, whose identity cannot be published at this stage of the proceedings due to legal restrictions, is charged with serious indecency and indecent assault in relation to an incident alleged to have occurred on December 23, 2024.

According to Wadadli Case Files, the complainant and a friend were approached by the entertainer and offered work at an event. The women reportedly accepted the offer and were picked up by the accused. However, instead of being taken to the event, prosecutors allege they were driven to his private residence.

It is alleged that while there, the accused attempted to persuade both women to engage in sexual activity with him simultaneously. The prosecution further alleges that after the complainant rejected his advances, he kissed her and touched her private parts without her consent.

The entertainer was formally arraigned on June 8, where he pleaded not guilty to both charges. He is represented by attorney Wendel Alexander.

According to Wadadli Case Files, the matter was committed to the High Court after prosecutors tendered WhatsApp messages and other evidence during the committal proceedings.

Justice Ann Marie Smith is expected to preside over the trial, which is scheduled to begin on October 5.

The accused remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
