Minister of Education Daryll Matthew has congratulated students, parents, teachers and school communities across Antigua and Barbuda following the release of the 2026 Grade 6 National Assessment (G6NA) results, describing the occasion as an important milestone in the educational journey of the nation’s children.

In a message issued after the results were announced, Matthew praised the dedication and hard work demonstrated by students across the country and acknowledged the collective effort of parents, teachers, principals and school communities in supporting their success.

The minister reserved special recognition for the country’s highest achievers, congratulating Denushka H. Gibbs of Minoah Magnet Academy for emerging as the top national student in this year’s assessment.

He also applauded Marlensky J. Salien of Antigua Baptist Academy, who secured the title of top male student while placing second overall nationally, and Necasia B. Ralph of J. T. Ambrose Primary School, who was named the top government school student after finishing third overall.

Matthew further commended Post Millennial Academy for producing the highest number of students in the National Top 100, with an impressive 12 students earning places on the prestigious list.

However, the minister stressed that academic success should not be measured solely by rankings, encouraging every student to take pride in the effort they invested throughout the school year.

“To every student, whether your name appears on a list or not, be proud of your efforts,” Matthew said. “This is just one milestone on your educational journey. Keep believing in yourselves, keep working hard, and continue striving for excellence.”

He wished all Grade 6 students continued success as they prepare to transition into secondary school, expressing confidence that they will continue to grow both academically and personally in the years ahead.
