A 24-year-old man is receiving medical treatment at hospital after an attempted suicide at His Majesty’s Prison.

Jermaine Nicholas, of All Saints, was rushed to hospital following the incident, which prompted an immediate response from prison officers. He is currently receiving medical care.

Nicholas is on remand in connection with the fatal stabbing of 29-year-old Jahmarley Pierre.

Pierre died on the afternoon of March 25 after being stabbed during a confrontation near the All Saints traffic lights. He was transported by emergency responders to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident, Nicholas was charged and remanded to His Majesty’s Prison as legal proceedings continue.

Authorities have not released further details regarding his condition.

  1. Lord, I cry out for mercy on behalf of our young people. It’s not a coincidence that two young men, age 24 in a span 0f days are confronted by death. Pray people pray!
