The Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy has announced that PiAngo Fest will not be staged in 2026, bringing a temporary halt to one of Antigua and Barbuda’s most popular agricultural celebrations.

The ministry said the decision followed a review of its priorities, available resources and operational requirements, as well as concerns over this year’s mango harvest.

Officials explained that unpredictable weather has affected the national mango crop, making it difficult to determine when the fruit will reach its peak, a key factor in planning the annual festival.

The ministry said the cancellation was not made lightly but was necessary to protect the long-term future of the event.

PiAngo Fest has become a fixture on the national calendar, drawing hundreds of residents and visitors each year to celebrate Antigua and Barbuda’s rich agricultural heritage. The festival showcases a wide variety of mangoes and locally produced foods while providing a marketplace for farmers, agro-processors, craft vendors and small businesses.

Beyond its festive atmosphere, the event has also served as an important platform for promoting local agriculture, encouraging value-added production and increasing public awareness of the sector’s contribution to national development.

The ministry thanked exhibitors, sponsors, performers, volunteers and patrons for their continued support over the years, acknowledging the role they have played in the festival’s success.

While no timeline has been given for the event’s return, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to the goals and legacy of PiAngo Fest, expressing confidence that the break will help ensure the festival’s continued growth and sustainability in the years ahead.
