Decomposed Body Found in Vehicle Still Unidentified

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda is appealing to the public for help in locating the relatives of two deceased men whose bodies remain unclaimed more than two weeks after their deaths.

In a public notice issued through the Office of the Chief Health Inspector, officials said the bodies of Karl Lashley, who died on June 3, 2026, and Isaac Watson, who died on June 24, 2026, are currently being held at Barnes Funeral Home pending burial arrangements.

Family members have been urged to contact Jessica Barnes, Managing Director of Barnes Funeral Home Limited, to arrange for private burial. The funeral home is located on Irving Barnes Close, American Road, and can be reached at 462-1037.

Health officials warned that if no relatives come forward within 14 days of the publication of the notice, the Government will proceed with burying the deceased at a public cemetery.

The notice further states that once the Government carries out the interment, no legal action regarding the burial will be entertained.

The Office of the Chief Health Inspector said it is seeking the public’s assistance in ensuring the information reaches any relatives or individuals who may know the families of the deceased.

Authorities expressed hope that those affected will respond promptly so that appropriate arrangements can be made before the deadline expires.
