Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Gaston Browne and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Immigration and Chair of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) Task Force, the Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, will officially launch the accreditation process for the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2026 during this week’s Cabinet meeting on 15th July 2026.

The launch marks another significant milestone in Antigua and Barbuda’s preparations to host leaders, ministers, delegates, members of the media, and other accredited participants from across the Commonwealth from 1st to 4th November 2026.

As part of the launch, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda will unveil the official CHOGM 2026 Accreditation portal, the central online platform for processing accreditation applications. The portal has been designed to facilitate a secure, efficient and streamlined registration process for all eligible participants attending CHOGM and its associated meetings and events.

Prime Minister Browne welcomed the commencement of accreditation as an important step towards delivering a world-class Summit, noting that the Government remains committed to ensuring that every aspect of the Meeting is organised to the highest international standards.

Minister Greene, who also chairs the National CHOGM Taskforce, commended the work of the Accreditation Committee and acknowledged the close collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat and national stakeholders in developing a robust accreditation system that meets international standards. He also expressed appreciation to the Independent State of Samoa, host of CHOGM 2024, whose practical guidance and technical expertise have assisted the national team in developing an accreditation framework tailored to the operational requirements of CHOGM 2026 while incorporating international best practices.  Minister Greene noted that this support reflects the enduring spirit of Commonwealth cooperation and the seamless transition between successive host nations.

Eligible participants will receive guidance on the accreditation process through their respective governments, organisations, and the Commonwealth Secretariat. Applicants are encouraged to complete the accreditation process within the prescribed timelines to facilitate the timely issuance of conference credentials.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda continues to advance preparations across all areas of CHOGM planning and looks forward to welcoming the Commonwealth family to St. John’s in November for a successful and impactful Meeting under the theme “Accelerating Partnerships and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth.”
