The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda (NYPAAB) has officially wrapped up its Back-to-School Raffle initiative after completing its give back to a number of schools across the island.

An initiative which began earlier this year, among the benefiting schools was Newfield Primary School, where fifth and sixth grade students received free eye screenings through a partnership with Eye Mobile Vision Care, along with sporting equipment sponsored by Faster Freight Antigua.

The give-back campaign also extended to Barbuda, where Sir McChesney George Secondary School received a donation of air conditioning units, during a visit that also saw the NYPAAB leadership met with the school’s student council.

Ezekiel Francois, president of the National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda and founder of the Barbuda Council, led the Barbuda visit, coordinating with the school’s principal ahead of the handover.

Launched with more than 50 prizes contributed by over 70 businesses across Antigua and Barbuda, the organizers said half the proceeds from ticket sales supported six schools, including the two school in Barbuda, with funding directed toward areas such as agriculture, art and homework centre resources.
