
National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda Elects New Executive Members and Youth MPs
The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda (NYPAAB) has officially elected its newest Executive Committee and slate of Youth Members of Parliament for the upcoming term.
At a by-election process held last night, the general body elected Rainer Santos Mercado as Vice-President of the organization with Romario Hughes to serve as General Secretary, Esther McKenzie as External Affairs Officer and Lutrell John elected Public Relations Officer.

Other elected members include Ezekiel Francois as President, Janiyah Winston as Financial Secretary, Jordyn Roberts as Recruitment and Mobilization Officer, and Lorianna Richards as Projects and Events Manager who were elected at the body’s Annual General Meeting on April 30.

Former President Jessica Zouetr will serve the new executive as the Immediate-Past President.
The association also elected a slate of new Youth Members of Parliament to represent constituencies across Antigua and Barbuda.

Johanna Jacobs will represent St. Mary’s North, Cyniya Ireland will represent All Saints West, Celine Edwards will represent All Saints East and St. Lukes, Jawan Jackson will represent St. Philip’s North, Chrysean Jarvis will represent St. Johns Rural South, Alton Alcendor will represent St. Johns Rural West, Daniel Taylor will represent St. Paul, and Leanna Browne will represent St. John’s City South.

The association said youth caretakers for the remaining constituencies will be appointed at a later date.
Francois said the newly elected team reflects the talent, diversity, and commitment of Antigua and Barbuda’s youth, and expressed confidence that both the Executive Committee and Youth Parliamentarians will work collaboratively to strengthen the association and expand opportunities for meaningful youth participation in national development.

NYPAAB said it looks forward to a productive term focused on leadership development, civic engagement, policy discussion, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
