VIDEO: Vehicle Owner Appeals for Help After Child Allegedly Steals Wallet from Car in Brownes Avenue

A Brownes Avenue resident is appealing to the public for help identifying a young boy who was allegedly caught on video entering a vehicle and stealing a wallet containing cash and several important personal documents.

The incident reportedly occurred Sunday night. According to the vehicle owner, the child entered the parked vehicle and made off with a wallet containing cash, bank and debit cards, a driver’s licence, medical card, Social Security card and other personal identification.

A video shared by the owner, which accompanies this story, is being circulated in the hope that someone will recognize the child and alert his parents.

Rather than calling for punishment, the owner is urging the child’s parents or guardians to encourage him to return the stolen items.

“If anyone can help identify him and let his parents know to tell him to kindly bring back my stuff,” the owner wrote in a social media post, adding that they hope the matter can be resolved without having to pursue the issue further.

Anyone with information that could assist in identifying the child or recovering the stolen items is encouraged to contact the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.
