Lifeguard Dies After Medical Emergency at Fort James Beach

A lifeguard who was on duty at Fort James Beach has died following a medical emergency while in the water.

According to initial reports, the young man experienced complications while carrying out his duties. Fellow lifeguards responded immediately, rushing to his aid and removing him from the water before administering CPR as emergency medical services were summoned.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel continued life-saving efforts upon arriving at the scene and transported him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre. Despite their efforts, he could not be revived and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
