Ministry of Health Publishes Updated Schedule for Public Dental Clinics

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs has released an updated schedule for services at the Glanvilles and Villa Dental Clinics, providing residents with a clearer guide on where and when they can access public dental care.

The revised timetable outlines the availability of a range of services, including adult and children’s dental clinics, dental prophylaxis (cleaning), oral surgery consultations and oral surgery procedures.

According to the ministry, patients requiring oral surgery must first undergo a consultation, after which procedures will be scheduled by appointment only.

The Glanvilles Dental Clinic will continue to offer adult clinics throughout much of the week, with dedicated sessions for children on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Dental cleanings for children and senior citizens are available on Tuesday afternoons, while oral surgery consultations are held on Thursday afternoons.

Meanwhile, the Villa Dental Clinic provides adult, children’s and senior citizens’ clinics on designated days. Oral surgery services are offered on Wednesdays by appointment following consultation, while consultation and follow-up appointments are scheduled for Thursday mornings.

Health officials are encouraging members of the public to review the schedule before visiting either clinic to ensure the service they require is available at the selected location and time.

The ministry also reminded patients that both the Glanvilles and Villa Dental Clinics are closed to the public every Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to facilitate sterilization procedures. No patient services are provided during that period.

The updated schedule forms part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve access to quality oral healthcare and ensure residents can more easily navigate the services available through the public health system.

Officials say the initiative supports the government’s commitment to promoting healthier smiles and stronger communities across Antigua and Barbuda.
