Caribbean Union Bank (CUB) Hells Gate Steel Orchestra has been crowned champions of the 2026 State Insurance Company Panorama Competition, securing the coveted title after an outstanding performance that thrilled judges and thousands of steelpan enthusiasts.

The victory adds another chapter to Hells Gate’s rich legacy as one of the nation’s most celebrated steel orchestras and marks another memorable moment in the annual competition, which remains one of the highlights of the Carnival season.

West Indies Oil Company (WIOC) Gemonites Steel Orchestra finished as first runner-up following a strong and polished performance, while Halcyon Steel Orchestra claimed the second runner-up position after also impressing the audience with its musical presentation.

Organisers praised all of the participating steel orchestras for delivering an exceptional evening of music, noting that the competition showcased the remarkable talent, discipline and creativity of Antigua and Barbuda’s pannists and arrangers.

State Insurance Company Limited, the title sponsor of the event, also congratulated the winners and every orchestra that took part, thanking the musicians, arrangers, supporters and volunteers for helping to keep the country’s steelband tradition alive.

The Antigua Carnival Festivals Commission echoed those sentiments, describing the competition as another successful celebration of the nation’s cultural heritage and the enduring spirit of steelpan.

With the Panorama title now secured, CUB Hells Gate Steel Orchestra will celebrate another historic achievement as Carnival festivities continue, while fans across the island reflect on yet another thrilling night dedicated to the music that has become a cornerstone of Antigua and Barbuda’s cultural identity.
