Antigua and Barbuda’s young track and field athletes are heading to the international stage as the national delegation travels to Eugene, Oregon, for the World Athletics U20 Championships.

The Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association (ABAA) announced the team’s departure, extending best wishes to the athletes, coach and official as they prepare to represent the twin-island nation against some of the world’s top junior competitors.

“Off to Oregon!” the association announced, as it shared news that the delegation was officially on its way to the prestigious championships.

The World Athletics U20 Championships provide an important platform for emerging track and field talent, bringing together promising young athletes from across the globe.

For Antigua and Barbuda’s representatives, the championships will provide an opportunity to test their abilities at the highest level of junior international competition while proudly carrying the national flag.

The ABAA encouraged the athletes to approach the competition with confidence and determination.

“Go with confidence, compete with heart, and make us proud!” the association said in its message to the delegation.

The association also wished the athletes, coach and official safe travels and success as they represent Antigua and Barbuda on the world stage.

Attention will now turn to the competition in Eugene, with supporters at home expected to closely follow the performances of the country’s young athletes as they seek to make their mark on the global stage.
