Numerous beverages were confiscated from patrons leaving the 268 de Breakfast Fete after organizers introduced stricter security measures at this year’s event, according to State Media.
The popular Carnival breakfast party, held on Sunday, August 2, implemented enhanced security protocols following its move to a new venue. The changes were aimed at improving the overall experience for patrons while strengthening access and exit controls.
According to State Media, security personnel stationed at the exit gates confiscated drinks being carried out of the venue, enforcing a policy that organizers said was designed to protect the integrity of the event and ensure compliance with its rules.
The move prompted discussion among some patrons, many of whom were surprised by the level of enforcement. Organizers, however, maintained that the stricter measures were necessary as the event continues to grow in size and complexity.
According to State Media, promoters said implementing the enhanced security arrangements came at a significant cost. Hiring additional security personnel, establishing controlled checkpoint areas and managing exit gate operations all increased the expense of staging the event.
Despite the added costs, organizers said the investment was necessary to maintain a safe environment, safeguard event operations and protect the long-term sustainability of one of Antigua Carnival’s most popular breakfast fetes.

People mean that they will get their money’s worth in drinks! So ghetto. The ticket allows you drinks and food inclusive while you’re at the event. It doesn’t entitle you to leave with them to enjoy later. Mas camps need to enforce this also. There is a certain greedy woman who walks with shopping bags containers and foil to pack up “food for tomorrow” when she leaves the Mas camp. Disgusting!
If the woman is not committing a crime leave her alone. I noticed people today prefer to see food go in the garbage and get vex if someone save it for their consumption. Stop be bad minded because the damn food will still get throw out. Seal beverages is a different story the organizers can resale them. Ar we too jealous and bad minded over each other getting by. Stop waste food and let people take it home to consume after any event. We don’t know what people going through to survive.
If they going through things to survive then maybe they should stay home and not spend the money to come to a fete that can’t afford..
So what all the money aru spend you can’t eat or drink all the food and juice.
