Prime Minister Gaston Browne has highlighted the case who was reportedly left with herpes after being sexually assaulted by a 59-year-old man, as he renewed his condemnation of what he considers unduly lenient sentences for sexual crimes against children.
Speaking on Pointe FM, Browne said the 12-year-old victim must now live with the lifelong sexually transmitted infection, while the perpetrator reportedly received a sentence of only three years.
“Just over a week ago, we had a 12-year-old who was raped here by a 59-year-old man,” Browne said. “He gave the young lady an STD, herpes, that she has for the rest of her life. And he got three years. Is that justice?”

This man should be in Prison for 59 years ,or anyone who did this to under age children or other serious Crime.Sentance by their AGE.
He’s wasted his time, wrap it up
The jail time for rape is less than being caught with a gun. Something is definitely wrong with the court system in Antigua 🇦🇬
The prime Minister is so right.
And you telling me some of these nasty men still living or free to give it to someone else? LIFE in prison mi say
