Cabinet Approves Digitisation of Police Records Management System

20 August 2026 - 13:08

Cabinet has approved the digitisation of the records management system within the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

The initiative is expected to improve the storage, retrieval and management of police records while allowing investigators and prosecutors to access relevant information more quickly.

Cabinet said the programme will be particularly important in improving coordination between investigators and prosecutors and strengthening the management of cases from the investigative stage through prosecution.

The Government has previously committed resources to expanding the use of technology in crime fighting, including investments in surveillance cameras, drones, vehicles and other law-enforcement assets.

Cabinet said the digitisation programme forms part of a wider effort to confront serious crime through stronger enforcement, prosecution, technology and criminal justice reform.
