
Three men are in police custody after officers seized 30 pounds of cannabis and more than EC$10,000 in cash during a stop-and-search operation at Creekside on Monday.
According to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force were conducting the exercise at approximately 7:45 a.m. on September 14 when they intercepted a white Toyota Ractis occupied by three men.
A search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered a quantity of plant material resembling cannabis, along with sums of Eastern Caribbean and United States currency.
The three occupants were arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of cannabis and taken into custody for questioning.
Police also seized the suspected drugs, cash and vehicle as part of the continuing investigation. No formal charges had been announced at the time of publication.
