Workers at Kennedy’s Hardware on All Saints Road and its outlet at Newgate Lane have taken industrial action as tensions mount over concerns about working conditions and management’s handling of their union representation.

The employees, most of whom are women, have selected the People’s Union to represent them in negotiations with management. However, they allege that the company has refused to meet or engage with union officials to address their concerns.

The workers say their grievances include issues surrounding working conditions, job descriptions, workloads, and other matters affecting their daily responsibilities.

The industrial action comes amid growing frustration among employees who want their concerns formally addressed through collective representation.
