re looking to deepen their partnership, with trade, education and human resource development among the priority areas identified for stronger cooperation.

The commitment was made during a Canada-CARICOM breakfast meeting in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, held on the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Discussions focused on opportunities to expand collaboration between Canada and the Caribbean, with both sides pledging to increase cooperation in several areas considered important to the region’s development.

Trade, education and human resource development featured among the areas highlighted, signalling an interest in strengthening economic ties while creating greater opportunities for skills development and capacity-building across CARICOM member states.

The meeting forms part of the wider diplomatic engagements taking place in Antigua and Barbuda as Commonwealth leaders and international partners gather for CHOGM.
