King Charles Praises Antigua and Barbuda: “Small Island, Big Vibes”
Monarch commends the nation’s hospitality and international contribution during the CHOGM opening ceremony.
King Charles III praised Antigua and Barbuda’s contribution to the world as he addressed Commonwealth leaders at the National Performing Arts Centre.
Thanking the government and people for their welcome, the King said the country’s influence extended well beyond its size.
“For one of the smallest nations on earth, your impact in the world is tremendous,” he said, adding that there was truth in the expression “small island, big vibes.”
The King, accompanied by Queen Camilla, also reflected on participating in celebrations marking Antigua and Barbuda’s 45th anniversary of independence.
He said it had been a pleasure to recognise the achievements of Antiguans and Barbudans across different fields.
His remarks placed the host country at the centre of a broader message about the Commonwealth’s diversity and the contributions that members of every size can make.
